³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ Launches Vice Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence
The Vice Chancellor’s Office at the University and the ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ Learning Institute (LLI) have announced a Call for Nominations for the inaugural ‘Vice Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence’. The University-wide teaching award aims to recognise the contributions of instructors who, through innovation, commitment, and continued excellence in teaching, have significantly enhanced the quality of their students’ learning experiences.
The instructors at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ play a large role in making the University world-class, and these awards are a chance for the entire community to recognise and celebrate their contributions. All instructors (faculty, adjuncts, teaching fellows and professors of practice) who contribute to teaching and learning at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ are eligible to be nominated. Any Chair, Dean, faculty, staff or student can nominate an instructor by attesting to the instructor’s excellence and effectiveness in teaching, as well as the impact that they have had on student learning.
The Nomination Process
Step 1: A nominator must complete a short nomination questionnaire by 4:00 pm on February 1, 2021, indicating their intent to support a nominee. The nominator will also need to prepare a nomination letter which is to be included in the nomination portfolio.
Step 2: The Selection Committee will review the nomination questionnaires and contact the
nominators and the selected nominees to invite them to submit a nomination portfolio by 4:00 pm on
April 2, 2021. At this time, nominees will also be invited to attend a webinar with the ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ Learning
Institute for support in developing a nomination portfolio later in February.
