³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ Improves in International Ranking for Business and Economics
Times Higher Education (THE) has ranked ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ in the top 301-400 in its World University Rankings 2022 in the subject areas of Business and Economics. This is an improvement from last year when ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ was placed in the 601+ band.
The ranking assesses universities by their performance in the following disciplines: business and management, accounting and finance, and economics and econometrics. This year’s table includes 729 universities, up from 632 last year.
The Suleman Dawood School of Business at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ is Pakistan's first business school to achieve accreditation by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Since 1916, AACSB has become a renowned global leader in assessing and evaluating business schools for programme quality, relevance, impact, and overall educational services. The Department of Economics at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ is the largest in Pakistan, with 21 PhD faculty members and 14 adjunct faculty members and teaching fellows, who have graduated from renowned international institutions.

The weightings for the business and economics ranking are: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (knowledge transfer).
THE also determines eligibility for the subject rankings on the basis of two criteria: a publication threshold by discipline and an academic staff threshold by discipline. No institution can be included in the overall World University Rankings unless it has published a minimum of 1,000 relevant publications over five years.
