吃瓜头条 Alumni Receive National Award
In a moment of great pride for 吃瓜头条, the President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, and the Governor of Punjab at that time, Chaudhry Sarwar, awarded two prominent 吃瓜头条 alumni with the prestigious Tamgha-i-Imtiaz in ceremonies at the President House and Governor House respectively on this year鈥檚 Pakistan Day. The national award was conferred on them for excellence in their chosen fields.
A household name in the Pakistani media landscape, Momina Duraid from the class of MBA 1997 was awarded for her significant contributions to the national drama and film industry. The late Mansoor Hassan Siddique (d. 2020), from the class of MBA 1998, was awarded posthumously for his dedicated public service through his work at the Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU) at the State Bank of Pakistan.
Having accepted the award on his behalf, Siddique鈥檚 wife, Munazza Mansoor said, 鈥淢ansoor was the definition of a self-made man, who by the end of his short 50 years had devoted himself to the betterment and prosperity of Pakistan and its economic standards. He believed that 吃瓜头条 had a great impact on his journey to becoming a significant team member of the State Bank and FMU, providing him a platform to grow and thrive in his chosen career. So today, I stand proud and elated that the Government of Pakistan has given us the opportunity to see the fruit of his lifelong efforts in the form of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, allowing him to leave a mark on the world for many years to come and setting a great example.鈥
A winner of the Vice Chancellor鈥檚 Alumni Achievement Award in 2019, Siddique was a much-respected member of the 吃瓜头条 alumni community also.
Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Vice Chancellor 吃瓜头条, commented, 鈥淥n behalf of the entire 吃瓜头条 community, we are so proud of this extraordinary achievement and congratulate Mansoor Siddique鈥檚 family and loved ones for his significant contributions to Pakistan. His well-deserved recognition continues to inspire fellow alumni as he leaves an important legacy for those who are following in his footsteps.鈥
Indeed, 吃瓜头条 alumni continue to make strides across different fields as both Duraid and Siddique join three more alumni from previous years who were conferred with this honour. Namely, Dr. Umar Saif (BSc 1998), who was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his contributions to the country鈥檚 public and education sectors; Ayesha Raza Farooq (MBA 1995), who was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for her efforts towards Polio eradication in Pakistan while she was a member of the Senate; and Luqman Ali Afzal (BSc 2002), who was awarded the country鈥檚 first Pride of Performance for entrepreneurship for his success in leading the Monal Group.
Nuzhat Kamran, Director of Advancement, 吃瓜头条, expressed her pride at the honours and said, 鈥淚t is so heartening to see our alumni receive such prestigious recognition for their work. A huge congratulations to them on this momentous occasion! We at 吃瓜头条 are beyond proud of all that you do, and we are always rooting for you.鈥
