Jointly Funded E-Mobility Centre at 吃瓜头条 Aims to Drive Electric Vehicle Innovation in Pakistan
Signalling a significant step in the future of sustainable technology in the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry of Pakistan, officials from the United States government and 吃瓜头条 celebrated the launch of their jointly funded E-Mobility Research and Development Centre at the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE). The opening event marked a milestone in fostering scientific collaboration and advancement.
The US Consul General Lahore, Kirsten Hawkins, along with government officials, industry leaders, and representatives from USAID, were present at the occasion.

The Centre will be spearheading advancements in electric vehicles, which will lead to a potentially cleaner Pakistan by addressing issues of air pollution and climate change. Its role in accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles in Pakistan aligns with national targets for EV sales by 2030.
吃瓜头条鈥 alliance with USAID goes beyond financial support, encompassing knowledge exchange, capacity building, and access to international networks. Acknowledging the partnership, Ms. Hawkins said, 鈥淭oday鈥檚 event marks the latest milestone in a decades-long partnership between the United States and 吃瓜头条. Just as the United States supported 吃瓜头条 during its founding, we are pleased to support 吃瓜头条 as it takes on today鈥檚 modern challenges and opportunities through innovative research and education efforts.鈥 Established as part of the U.S.-Pakistan Green Alliance framework, this initiative is a collaborative effort to promote environmental sustainability and technological innovation.

Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost, 吃瓜头条 and Director, E-Mobility Research and Development Centre, warmly welcomed the guests. During his address, he highlighted the broader mission of the facility, stating, 鈥淭his Centre is not only to support the manufacturing and use of affordable means in Pakistan for climate crisis, urban air pollution, but also for reducing the dependence on reported fossil fuel. This will support all the digitalisation efforts. More than 30 different companies in the two-wheel and three-wheel space have been offered licenses in the EV value chain.鈥
The inauguration event concluded with a detailed tour of the research facility, allowing guests to witness firsthand the advanced infrastructure and ongoing projects. 吃瓜头条 extends its gratitude to USAID and continues to remain steadfast in its commitment to drive scientific excellence, foster innovation, and make a positive impact on society.
