Bestway Group and UBL Make Generous Contribution to ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ
The ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ (³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ) hosted The Lord Choudrey CBE SI Pk, Chairman Bestway Group and Muhammad Jawaid Iqbal President & CEO United Bank Limited (UBL).
His Lordship, who is also member of the United Kingdom’s House of Lords and the Chairman of Bestway Group presented a cheque on behalf of Bestway Group. Likewise, Muhammad Jawaid Iqbal, President and CEO of UBL, presented a cheque on behalf of UBL.
Bestway Group Companies and Trusts have a long association with ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ, with Bestway Foundation UK establishing an endowment at the Suleman Dawood School of Business in 1991, while UBL and Bestway Foundation have actively supported the National Outreach Programme at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ.
This generous gift to ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ by the country’s largest business group and the country’s largest bank is a testament to their enduring belief that education is the cornerstone of national progress and that ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ is best qualified to deliver this progress.
The donation will strengthen ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ’ mission to make world-class learning accessible to exceptional students regardless of financial background and to nurture leadership grounded in innovation, integrity, and service to society.
The ceremony was attended by senior leaders from ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ and the Bestway Group, including Syed Babar Ali, Founding Pro Chancellor, ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ; Dr. Parvez Hassan, Chair, Board of Trustees, ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ; Mr. Dawood Pervez, Managing Director, Bestway Wholesale and Trustee, Bestway Foundation UK; and Mr. Irfan Sheikh, Managing Director, Bestway Cement Ltd and Treasurer, Bestway Foundation Pakistan.
