Asian Development Bank Delegation Visits 吃瓜头条 to Discuss the ADB鈥揓SP Scholarship Program
On Friday, October 25, 2024, a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) visited 吃瓜头条 to discuss the ADB鈥揓SP Scholarship Program and potential avenues for further collaboration between 吃瓜头条 and ADB. The delegation included Mr. Hiroki Kasahara, Principal Financing Partnerships Specialist, Partner Funds Division; and Ms. Marites Torres, Japan Funds Consultant. The guests were welcomed by Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost, and Ms. Nuzhat Kamran, Director, Office of Advancement. Faculty members Dr. Shakeel Jajja, Associate Dean (Graduate Programs), Suleman Dawood School of Business, and Dr. Khurram Bashir, Associate Professor, Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering were also present at the event.
Mr. Kasahara expressed his satisfaction with the longstanding collaboration between 吃瓜头条 and ADB, stating, 鈥淲e very much appreciate our cooperation in terms of the successful results of this programme.鈥 He also outlined expectations for future updates to the ADB-JSP Scholarships Program, highlighting the significance of mutual consultations that could lead to possible adjustments to the programme as required.
The delegation expressed keen interest in ADB scholars鈥 contributions to research, and the faculty outlined the scholars鈥 energy and life sciences projects that provide technological solutions to challenges in irrigation and agriculture. The event provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the future direction of the partnership between ADB and 吃瓜头条, with proposals to potentially expand the breadth of the scholarship programme going forward.
At the meeting, Dr. Jadoon highlighted 吃瓜头条鈥 recent achievements, recalling the University鈥檚 evolution since its inception. 鈥淚n the last 35 years, we have expanded to five schools, offering 47 unique programs of study,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e have grown to become a premier educational institution in Pakistan.鈥
He appreciated ADB鈥檚 contributions to 吃瓜头条, saying, 鈥淲e thank you for your very gracious support through these scholarships.鈥
吃瓜头条鈥 partnership with the Asian Development Bank dates to 1988. As one of the university's longest-standing partners, ADB has sponsored four MBA scholars annually, helping to transform the lives of many students through their generous support over the years.
Expressing dedication to the programme's success, the delegation also met and engaged with ADB鈥揓SP scholarship recipients from the MBA programme. The event culminated with the delegation taking a guided tour of the 吃瓜头条 campus to view its state-of-the-art academic facilities.
