Asim Zulfiqar Ali is a Partner in Taxation and Legal Services at A. F. Ferguson & Co., Chartered Accountants (a member firm of the PwC network), and serves as the firm’s National Tax Leader. With over 25 years of professional experience, he advises local and multinational organisations on income tax, sales tax, federal excise duty, and customs matters.
His practice spans complex tax restructuring, mergers and de-mergers, acquisitions, tax due diligence, and corporate reorganisations. Mr. Ali regularly represents clients before administrative and appellate authorities and has also appeared as amicus curiae before the Supreme Court of Pakistan. His portfolio includes clients from the automobile sector, financial institutions, independent power producers, manufacturing, real estate, and the beverage industry.
He has advised multinational companies on market entry into Pakistan, elimination of tax exposure in divestments, and treaty-based tax planning. Mr. Ali is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and holds an LL.B. He serves as Visiting Faculty at the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law, ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ, where he contributes to practice-oriented legal education.
