Ali Nobil Ahmad is an interdisciplinary social scientist, journalist and consultant with interests in migration, political ecology, film and media. He has published widely and worked as a practitioner in each of these fields, most recently as a policy specialist at the Heinrich Boll Foundation. His teaching spans History, Sociology, Film and Media Studies. Some of his academic publications are listed . Ali has worked at leading universities, research centres, foundations and thinktanks in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the United States. He received a PhD in History from the European University Institute in Florence and is a former recipient of The Guardian’s Scott Trust bursary for journalists.
