Dr. Fizza Kanwal is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ (³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ). She holds a PhD in Management from the University of North Texas (USA), where she studied as a Fulbright Scholar.
Dr. Kanwal’s research examines entrepreneurial outcomes and workplace experiences through three interconnected streams. She studies marginalization in entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on crowdfunding as a mechanism for democratizing access to capital for underrepresented entrepreneurs. In addition, she investigates identity-based stereotypes and their implications for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in organizations. Her work also explores individual differences and workplace behaviors to better understand how they shape employee experiences and organizational outcomes.
Her research has been published in Financial Times 50 (FT50) A* Management journals, including Human Resource Management and Journal of Business Venturing, among others. Her work has also been featured in The Conversation, bringing her research to a broader public audience. Prior to pursuing her PhD, Dr. Kanwal worked for several years as a Research Associate and Lecturer in Management, gaining extensive experience in both research and teaching.
Dr. Kanwal currently serves as a Global Ambassador for Pakistan for the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management (AoM), where she works to strengthen connections and collaboration among management scholars in the region.
