Dr. Zain Ul Abidin is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ (³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ), where he teaches financial accounting and auditing. He currently serves as the Programme Director for the MS Accounting & Analytics programme.
His research focuses on the intersections of accounting, fraud, and governance, particularly how financial information is used to obscure or legitimise irregular practices. His recent work draws on real-world financial scandals in Pakistan, combining qualitative research with forensic financial analysis.
Dr. Zain has authored several case studies on accounting, cash flow management, and operational decision-making in complex business environments. His work has also been published in the Asian Journal of Management Cases. He actively develops practice-oriented teaching materials that bring South Asian business contexts into the classroom.
Prior to joining academia, he worked across audit, consulting, and financial reporting roles in Pakistan and the UK. His professional engagements have included business planning, financial modelling, and investment evaluation for new ventures and sectoral projects in hospitality and infrastructure.
He holds a PhD in Accounting from Essex Business School, UK, and a Master’s degree in Finance from the School of Management at the University of Bradford, UK.
