Dr. Anam Kuraishi is an Assistant Professor at the Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences, ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ. She did her PhD in Political Science from University of Essex (2022) and an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2016). Her research focuses on political behaviour and politics of South Asia. In particular, she examines citizens’ democratic commitment, and how rhetoric and misinformation shape public opinion. Adjacent to this, she is also working on themes related to gender and climate change. She develops research designs using a variety of data and methods, including experimental and survey methods, content analysis, observational data, and interviews. She is the author of the book,  Towards a New Paradigm on Post-Truth.
 

She has previously served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Antwerp, and a Visiting Research Fellow at Collegio Carlo Alberto in Italy, V-Dem Institute and Aarhus University. She is also an Associate Fellow at the Institute of Development and Economic Alternatives (IDEAS) where she has worked on projects on child marriages and women’s political participation in Pakistan.
